Changing rotational acceleration

Page history last edited by Clayton Pike 1 yr ago

One way we try to show our students rotational acceleration is to have a member of the class stand or sit on a rotating platform with a small weight in each hand of their outstretched arms. Another student begins to spin them. As the student begins to spin they bring in heir arms and they start spinning faster.  We try to have the students determine the rate of acceleration as the radius of the circle changes. The students really enjoy feeling the effects of the change.
