Bernoulli and the Navy

Page history last edited by clay stanfield 3 mos ago

Bernoulli’s Principle:  Navy ship drivers are aware of Bernoulli’s principle.  When a ship needs more supplies or fuel, it will pull alongside a supply ship to get replenished.  The ships are joined together with high-tension wires and must maintain a distance of around 180 feet.  The ships’ hulls can be considered a constriction point as the water in-between the ships is moving at a faster velocity and therefore a lower pressure.  The people driving the ships must be conscious of this fact since if the ships get too close together they will be sucked toward each other and collide.
